The big gender scan...

I'm halfway there to meeting my baby boy... That's right we're having a boy! Found out at the scan last week. Scan photos are blurry and no good so I don't think I'll bother posting it. So when we found out he's a boy we freaked a little. Everyone was so convinced we were having a girl, and my family was really hoping for a girl too. We haven't had a girl in the family for a long time. Since my sister 20 years ago! So yep, we did have a little freak out when we saw that extra appendage between his legs.

But then we started talking about the positives of having a boy. J is exited about chemistry sets, model cars and superman outfits. And I started remembering that before everyone talked me in to having a girl, I always dreamed of having a little boy. I really find little boys totally adorable. And so now it is easy to imagine this boy coming in to our family...

I'm starting to look pregnant now. People who I don't know well or have never met now ask me when the baby is due. And today I went for a walk down the street and couldn't believe how pregnant my profile looked in the shop windows (yes, I was checking myself out!).

Really enjoying this part of pregnancy. I'm feeling the little man kick and J and I are starting to connect with him. My belly is sticking out and I feel pregnant. But I don't feel too uncomfortable. Have a funny numb spot on my tummy, and still getting muscle aches and pains and headaches. But the positives are far, far outweighing the negatives.

I am really excited about meeting our boy. Bring it on.

Congrats on finding out about your little boy! Even though I don't have a preference of one sex over the other, I've always imagined myself with a boy too. Sure, I'd love a girl just as much, but I'd be surprised if I had one.
